Even if you are not religious, praying several times a day can restore concentration and calmness.
The nuns in the monastery follow the church’s rituals, meaning they start with Lauds, the sunrise prayer, where they thank God for a new day. The midday prayer, called the Sext, at noon, and the evening prayer is the Vesper. Vesper, which takes place at dusk, for thanksgiving, out of gratitude, in another day. The nuns say that sleep is the most similar to death experience, so the last prayer, called the Compline, is the night prayer that protects sleep.
The most important aspect of prayer is focusing on gratitude for every lesson – big or every minute – of your life.
