According to police, the incident happened at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday
Police said a 35-year-old woman was traveling on the 7 southbound train at Roosevelt Avenue and Willets Point Avenue when a man on board began making anti-Asian remarks to her. When the victim started recording him on her cell phone, the police said he was knock it out of her hand, pick it up, and smash it on the ground.
The woman grabbed the phone and moved to another train car.
Suspect got off the car at the next stop.
No injuries were reported.
