AstraZeneca: Ema reiterated, benefits outweigh risks – Europe


(ANSA) – BRUSSELS, APRIL 7 – “The benefits” of the AstraZeneca vaccine “outweigh the risk”. The EMA reiterated this in a note, however, recommending “seek immediate medical assistance if people experience symptoms of low clotting and low platelets” after vaccination. As for the EMA, however, “there is no overall risk in management so there are no recommended specific measures to reduce the risk”.

However, the information “in the leaflet will be updated and a” warning “will be given. Additionally,” no age relationship is shown “between the rare events of the thrombosis and AstraZeneca, EMA Director Emer Cooke (HANDLE) said.
