Right-hand Brandon Woodruff beat eight out of six goalless innings, and Milwaukee Brewers took a 6-0 win over host Chicago Cubs on Sunday afternoon.

Woodruff (2-0) made two shots and two walks to get his first career win in 11 appearances against Chicago. Luis Urias had a double-run single, Kolten Wong had a double RBI and Travis Shaw drove in a pair run when Milwaukee won the rubber match of the three-game series.

The Cubs were shut down for the third time this season – all against Brewers. David Bote, Javier Baez and Matt Duffy have a lone person and Anthony Rizzo doubled down on team single shots.

The Cubs’ right hand, Jake Arrieta (3-2) succumbed to defeat despite giving up only once with two shots in six innings. He got three and hit eight.

The Brewers opened the scoring in the first match. They filled the bases with no one out after Wong scored a double in the lead, Omar Narvaez lone on the left flank and Avisail Garcia on foot.

Shaw calculated the game’s first RBI after the full count and watched one sink outside for the four ball.

Arrieta quickly recovered to avert the Brewers’ massive escape. He asked Keston Hiura to rush out to base first, Billy McKinney launched a swing and Jackie Bradley Jr. rushed to the second base to end the threat from the base.

The Cubs were held without a single shot until the fourth inning, when Bote shot to the left side of the field. Chicago had two games without anyone playing but failed to score after the half ended with a double play.

Milwaukee was threatened again in sixth place with first and third runner-up with no one out. Arrieta has solved the stuck situation with three consecutive attacks against Shaw, Hiura and McKinney.

The Brewers managed to make five runs in ninth to get the game out of reach. The first six batterers of the round reached the base safely. Urias and Wong hit on target shots before Shaw was hit on the pitch with preloaded facilities. Tyrone Taylor had a well grounded walk to score.
