PITTSBURGH (CBSNewYork / AP) – Jesper Bratt scored after a round of encirclement at 2:50 extra innings and New Jersey Devil beat Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 on Sunday.
Bratt received a pass from Pavel Zacha and quickly circled the net, a shot between the post and Penguins goalkeeper Tristan Jarry.
The Devil won for the third time in four games. They have won the second time in three games against Pittsburgh since Sunday’s match which was the third in a row between the teams. The Devils have had three wins in their previous 13 games before Sunday.
Bratt scored his second of the season and continued his four-game streak, while Sami Vatanen also scored his second of the season for New Jersey. Mackenzie Blackwood manages to make 35 shots from the Reds. He played his first game since suffering a more severe upper body injury on Thursday.

Sidney Crosby scored his 12th of the season for Pittsburgh. Penguins lost the third time in four games, after a series of six wins. Jarry made 33 saves for Pittsburgh.
Crosby opened the scoring at 3:37 of the first half. He was close to the goal line when he received a cross from Jake Guentzel and shot a shot between Blackwood’s slide and post.
Vatanen finished the game at 4:48 in the second half. Demons flooded the Pittsburgh net after a power play and Vatanen transformed when his slap beat Jarry. Vatanen, who has 1 point from 200 at the NHL, has 3 points in the last 4 games.
The demons played sixth out of 11 matches against each other on Sunday. They did not win in the first six (0-6-0), but improved to 3-2-1 in the second after a victory in extra time on Sunday.
CROSBY IS COMING SOON
Crosby knocked Evgeni Malkin out of the squad due to an injury to his lower body.
Crosby has 62 goals and 176 points after 145 games played without Malkin. Last season, Crosby had six goals and 18 points in 12 games without Malkin. This season, Crosby has one goal and three points from three games without Malkin, who had a streak of eight goals before getting injured last Tuesday against Boston.
Pittsburgh has been without winger Jason Zucker since Feb. 23. Penguins also recently lost centerpiece Teddy Blueger last week, while striker Brandon Tanev missed a second consecutive game on Sunday.
New Jersey continues a six-game long-distance trip on Tuesday in Philadelphia.
Pittsburgh finished the month with four home games, starting Wednesday against Buffalo.
