Ashley Allen, like millions of others, now has a vaccination card. She has Johnson & Johnson shoot on March 10th.

“That’s just the vaccine I want to make. Seems easy. One shot and done, ”Allen, 31, told CBS2’s Jenna DeAngelis.

Allen said it was easy, despite experiencing 24 hours of common symptoms.

Three weeks later, she was coughing and tired, which she thought was Lyme Disease after taking some time off.

“I was not thinking about COVID at all,” Allen said.

Two quick tests and a PCR confirm it is Coronavirus.

“I couldn’t even believe it,” Allen said.

She was particularly surprised because after shooting, she continued to take safety measures, such as wearing a mask.

“Just because you have a vaccine, doesn’t mean you can’t take it and give it to someone else,” Allen said.

“So are you still taking the precautions before and after the vaccination?” DeAngelis asked.

Allen is scattered reporting “breakthrough” cases – people who have been fully vaccinated and are still sick.

That is not unique to the COVID vaccine.

According to Dr. Fauci, it can happen if:

  • the vaccine is ineffective by itself or is improperly stored.
  • a person with a poor immune response.
  • There is a new strain in circulation.

“There were basically no deaths or hospitalizations among the vaccinated,” said Dr. Fauci.

If you get the vaccine, it can still take two to six weeks for full protection, the head of the CDC said.

Allen believes that her shot can make a difference in the severity of the condition.

“I want to imagine that it definitely plays a role,” she said. “So I’m a vaccine advocate. Take care of yourself and take care of those around you ”.

While dealing with COVID, Allen was in the process of starting a new business based on her passion for plants, which she discovered while temporarily starting work. their reality.
