Bruins’ Tuukka Rask scored the 300th win

Brad Marchand scored twice and Tuukka Rask scored his 300th career win as hosts Boston Bruins beat New York Islanders 4-1 on Thursday.

Craig Smith scored one goal in his first match and Taylor Hall scored a third for Bruins, who beat the Islanders for the first time in six meetings this season. Teams will play against each other in Boston on Friday.

Rask made 22 saves on his comeback since leaving the field after the first phase of Bruins’ 4-3 extra-time defeat to the Islanders on March 25 with an upper body injury .

New York had a goal from Travis Zajac, and Semyon Varlamov made 41 shots in place.

Jet 5, Maple Leaf 2

Kyle Connor had two goals and one assist, Nikolaj Ehlers scored two and Winnipeg left home Toronto with a third loss in a row.

Mark Scheifele netted one more goal and two assists for the Jets, who have won five of the past six games. Neal Pionk added two assists. Winnipeg’s Connor Hellebuyck made 31 saves.

John Tavares had one goal and one assist and Alex Galchenyuk also scored for Toronto. Maple Leafs goalkeeper Jack Campbell left three goals in six shots before being replaced by David Rittich in the early stages. Rittich made 16 saves.

Rangers 4, devil 0

Artemi Panarin clinched two goals and one assist as the home side New York headed to a separate victory over New Jersey.

Panarin had his third multi-goal match of the season. He has had 10 goals in 18 games since his return on 13 March after a two-week absence for personal reasons.

Jacob Trouba and Ryan Lindgren scored the opener 6:39 as Rangers improved to 11-4-3 in their last 18 games. New York is still four points behind Bruins for fourth and final place in the playoffs in the East League.

Anders Bjork had one goal and one assist, and goalkeeper Dustin Tokarski made 27 saves to get his first win in more than five years.

Sam Reinhart, Victor Olofsson and Casey Mittelstadt also scored for Sabers, who improved to 5-2-2 in nine games since the end of their 18-match streak.

Capitals ended their three-match winning streak and they ended the run with a 6-1-1 record against Buffalo. Washington has goals from Dmitry Orlov and recently acquired Anthony Mantha.

Petr Mrazek only needed to make 19 saves to help Carolina break through a two-loss streak by beating Nashville in Raleigh, NC Mrazek 3-0-1 since returning after more than two months off from playing for thumb injury.

Warren Foegele, Andrei Svechnikov, Vincent Trocheck and Sebastian Aho scored for Carolina, while Svechnikov and Trocheck each provided an assist.

Nashville’s Erik Haula scored a brief goal in the third half. Goalkeeper Juuse Saros made 25 saves for Predators, who lost their fourth time in 17 games.

Lightning 3, Panthers 2 (OT)

Victor Hedman scored 54 seconds after extra time as hosts Tampa Bay beat Florida.

Lightning goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevskiy made 36 saves. Alex Killorn and Ross Colton also scored for the home team.

The Panthers received goals from Patric Hornqvist and Anthony Duclair, and Chris Driedger blocked 16 shots.

Leaflet 2, Penguins 1 (SO)

Claude Giroux and Sean Couturier scored in the penalty shootout to help Philadelphia win at Pittsburgh.

Jakub Voracek scored in regulation for the Flyers, who lost two in a row and four out of five. Carter Hart made 31 shots to put in the win.

Sidney Crosby scored the right goal for Penguins, who had won three in a row, and Tristan Jarry made 26 saves.

Red Wings 4, Blackhawks 1

Troy Stecher scored the first two goals of his career and Jakub Vrana netted in his Detroit debut in a win over Chicago.

Vrana was acquired from Washington Capital on Monday trading term. Michael Rasmussen also scored for the Red Wings, and Marc Staal made two assists. Detroit goalkeeper Thomas Greiss makes a clearance of 24 shots.

Duncan Keith scored for Blackhawks, and Kevin Lankinen made 24 saves.

Star 4, Blue coat 1

Denis Gurianov netted two goals and one assist as Dallas scored four without equalizing for a home win over struggling Columbus.

Miro Heiskanen and Joe Pavelski also scored while Jake Oettinger made 17 saves to make it 4-0-1 against Blue Jackets this season.

Jack Roslovic scored his ninth of the season, but Columbus had only 18 shots on target. Elvis Merzlikins stopped step 27 for Blue Jackets, who lost four in a row (0-3-1).
