Even though they are all dog breeds, Poodles come in three sizes. In terms of form, dimensions are calculated by shoulder height, but generally Standard Poodle weighs about 60 pounds, Zoom out Poodle is about 16 pounds and Toy Poodle about 8 pounds. All three are full of wisdom and charm.
Poodles were grouped together into one breed in the mid-20th century, but their earlier histories are diverse, if not distinct. Standard Poodle’s ancestors were bred for water in Germany. Their famous fur serves a purpose, facilitating swimming and protecting vital organs from cold water. Miniature Poodle was developed primarily as a companion; Wealthy Europeans fashion lavish coats for their Poodles, sometimes mirroring their own hairstyle. Some miniature Poodles hunt for truffles, and others join the shows. Toy Poodles, the smallest variant, can be bred from their larger congeners simply to mate with cozy dimensions.
Poodles of all sizes have the same temperament: human-focused, gentle, and fast-learning. With his intelligence and easy-to-pay nature, Poodles proves opponents have difficulty obeying, assembling, and tracking. Dexterous and light on their feet, the Poodle often shines with agility. Most also enjoy swimming in the pool and spending time in the family pool. After all, they were born swimmers! And although Poodles are famous scammers and comedians, most have pride and a good temper (if not snobs!).
Poodle often gets along well with other family animals. Although he tends to be more attentive to humans than dogs, he is rarely bad-tempered with new dogs. For guard duty, Poodles are good vigilant barking dogs, but they likely won’t drive many strangers away. They are too welcoming and sociable to serve as classic guard dogs.
Although Poodles can adapt to any yard or apartment size, all Poodles need a purpose. Big or small, they all thrive with structured exercise, walking, swimming and, most importantly, joining the family. The Poodle is not a solitary creature.
