I have done Waffled Crab Cakes a few years ago and I thought I would try converting it to salmon. Plus, I want to try them out Mini Dash Waffle Maker. I made four small salmon pies, but you can make them bigger if you have a larger waffle iron. I like the way they are more crunchy with all that surface area. These healthy salmon cakes are a great way to provide omega-3s, which may reduce the risk of heart disease. They are also high in protein and low in carbs. If you want to make these salmon treats gluten-free, go for gluten-free panko.

How do you make salmon cakes from scratch?

These salmon cakes are not called “easy” for nothing! Just mix the seven ingredients in a bowl, place a quarter of a cup of mixture on a waffle iron, and cook for about three to four minutes. Like I said – easy!

You can also double or triple this salmon sponge cake recipe if you need to feed more people or want leftovers. To warm up, just put the waffle in the toaster.

How to serve salmon cake

There are a few different ways to serve these salmon waffles:

  • first 6-oz Is wild salmon okay
  • first big egg
  • 3 tbsp seasoned panko, or gluten free
  • first tbsp The sauce is fragrant
  • first tbsp lightweight mayo
  • first teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp Chopped scallions
  • Olive oil spray
  • lime wedge, Serve
  • Place salmon, crab, egg, panko, hot sauce, mayo, mustard and scallion in the bowl and mix well.

  • Heat up your mini waffle maker (love my Dash) and spray the oil.

  • Place 1/4 cup at a time and press down until the light goes out, or the edges are golden and crispy – 3 to 4 minutes.

  • Serve on a bed of green vegetables and squeeze the lemon juice on top.

  • If desired, rework and pour drizzle on top. Also great on potato cakes!

  • Optional remake sauce: combine mild mayo, lemon juice and capers and served with salmon cake.
