Kyrylo Andriushchenko’s company, Fctory.io, is taking proactive steps to give victims of the war a normal life by developing prostheses for amputees
Dozens of confirmed cases of the amputation of Ukrainian war victims are rife on social media with many more not reported. Adjusting to a normal life after the war will be difficult, but will be harder for victims who have lost their limbs and even their families. It is paramount that proactive measures be taken by governmental organization, NGO’s and the general public to proffer a lasting solution.
Kyrylo Andriushchenko, a passionate philanthropist, has taken the bull by the horn by creating an online platform to champion this cause of victim rehabilitation, especially for amputees. His idea involves equipping the prostheses with electronics, domiciling its production in Ukraine to facilitate maintenance of the bionic limbs and reduce the repair time from months to a few days. The prosthesis factory will be located in Odesa near the seaport and will ease the strain of logistics. Client offices will be located in Kyiv, Kharkiv which is 12-20 hours by road, ensuring that all bionic prostheses are rapidly delivered to the patients.
On the website, Kyrylo details the timespan of this major project including the amount of funds required to make this dream a success. Factory io seeks to work closely with the government, charitable foundations, and insurance agencies to find amputation victims. He also graphically explains the distribution of donated monies on the website; with factory services, marketing, patent and licensing fees, rehabilitation centers and many more subsectors being covered. Donations for the project is possible through PayPal, cypto currencies, NFT’s and general crowdfunding.
