Russian gas monopoly Gazprom said on April 23 that a feasibility analysis related to the construction of the Soyuz Vostok gas trunk had been approved.
Gazprom performed analysis in a comprehensive feasibility analysis framework related to the pipeline project to supply Russian gas through Mongolia to China, the Russian gas giant said in a press release. . The Soyuz Vostok gas pipeline will become an extension of Russia’s Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline on the territory of Mongolia.
During the feasibility analysis, the basic technical and technological parameters of the project have been established. These include the optimal route for the gas pipeline within the Mongolian territory, the length and diameter of the pipeline, the working pressure and the number of compressor stations, Gazprom added that preliminary readings reflect the cost effectiveness to be achieved during project implementation.
Under the plan, a feasibility study related to the Soyuz Vostok gas trunk construction project, including a detailed analysis of investment and operating costs, will be developed before the end of this year. This is indicated in the action plan of the Joint Working Group of Gazprom and the Government of Mongolia. A feasibility study of the special-purpose vehicle Gazoprovod Soyuz Vostok is being prepared.
