NEWARK, NJ (CBSNewYork) – New shirt Governor Phil Murphy announced sweeping new reforms on Thursday to combat gun violence.
The Governor wanted a safety course for everyone applying for a gun license and required all guns to be stored in locked boxes when not in use.

He also called for an increase in the minimum purchase age for all guns to 21 years old.

Murphy wants to increase funding for violent intervention groups by $ 10 million and give more money to the Gun Violence Research Center at Rutgers University.
