Even if you don’t always do remote events, the remote option is great for any team spread around the world.

But, a virtual offsite meeting? It sounds funny. How can you have an offsite website, which hardly feels like work?

In this post, we’ll dive into how these brands think of virtual peripherals in a creative way. And it’s not just asking people to turn on Zoom for 8 hours.

1. Loom VR Virtual Offsite

In late 2020, Loom decided to host a virtual offsite website. What makes the difference from attending an 8-hour Zoom meeting?

First, the company sent VR headsets to their team to let employees feel like they were leaving their home for a large company meeting they once traveled.

Once all is done, the meeting owner arranges the lines for each individual and shares them in a private email.

One of the biggest takeaways from this virtual periphery is that you can have a number of formats, different sessions, interactive and engaging content, while still getting work done in strategic sessions. .

When planning a virtual peripheral, it’s important to consider the timing and energy level of the event. Dedicating an entire day to a video conferencing tool won’t work for most people.

Hosting a virtual offsite website doesn’t need to be a complicated process. And it doesn’t have to be a boring 8-hour Zoom meeting. You can organize interactive sessions, give presentations, and actually interact with your employees.
