Think about what you want your career path to look like and how your lifestyle will make you happy. Build (brand building)

Determine what , the skills, certifications, training and professional experience you’ll need to build your personal brand. When you build your brand, think about what you will need to work on the types of projects that will help you thrive in your career path. Often times, professionals focus on essential and forget technical skills , the writing and presentation skills they will need to enhance their personal branding. Ask yourself these two questions:

  1. What (degree, certificate, training) do you have or need for your career path?
  2. Do you need additional education, skills or professional experience to fulfill your career goals for the path you have chosen?

If you lack the formal education required for your career path, you cannot build the foundation of your personal branding. You don’t always need a college degree to get the new role you desire. Sometimes you just need a training course or certificates. The more technical certifications and courses you take, the more money you may ask for. The Global IT skills and salary report 2019 says that the highest-paying certifications emphasize tough skills like cloud computing and network security and such as network and project management.

When you re-launch your personal brand, you want top-notch networking and interviewing skills as you present yourself to recruiters, hiring managers, and other professionals. The art of selling self requires that you feel comfortable presenting your personal branding to people who can help you get the job you want. Ask yourself two questions:

  1. Do you feel comfortable getting ready for job interviews? Did you perform well in interviews?
  2. Do you attend networking events, recruiting events and conferences to connect with like-minded professional leaders, recruiters and hiring managers?
