The Guardian reports this, citing data from the Ministry of Health. The number of deaths also skyrocketed, 2,263 people per day, 186,920 people since the beginning of the Covid pandemic.
Meanwhile, emergency oxygen continues in hospitals. Six facilities in New Delhi had run out of supplies since last night.
Thirteen patients with Covid-19 have died This morning, a fire broke out at a hospital on the outskirts of Mumbai (formerly Bombay), the largest city in India. The firefighters said: “17 patients are in the intensive care unit of Vijay Vallabh Hospital: 13 people have died and the remaining 4 have been transferred to other facilities. “The fire has now been extinguished,” they added, adding that the fire started around 3 a.m. (11:30 p.m. yesterday p.m. GMT) of Italy for reasons still unclear.
Japan has declared a new emergency for the crisis caused by the coronavirus. The government’s decision comes when the Olympics are only three months away. This is the third state of emergency since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.
More than 5 million Israelis received both doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Health Minister Yuli Edelstein said this, describing reality as “a huge achievement for the health system and the people of Israel”. “Together – he added – we are destroying the coronavirus”. Israel has a population of just over 9 million people: if adding about 837,000 people recovered from the disease after being given two doses, this number is nearly 6 million.
