Dozens of Kuwaiti people this morning protested to protest violence against women after a young mother was kidnapped and killed by a man who persecuted her despite repeated complaints to the authorities. .
The killing of 32-year-old Farah Hamzah Akbar, who was dumped in front of a hospital two days ago, shook the country. The woman was pulled out of the carriage where she was traveling with her two daughters and her sister in the middle of the sky. A series of videos went viral on social media showing the killer crashing behind the victim’s car and screaming of his daughter and sister accusing the authorities of not being able to protect her. The victim filed a lawsuit against the man who repeatedly demanded to marry her despite being married. The killer, who was arrested, confessed the offense, but was released on bail as demand for the death penalty increased in the country.
At the anti-violence protests there were also some men wearing dark clothes to honor the victims with the slogan: “Who will be next?”.
