BOSTON (CBS) – Pfizer announced Friday that it has filed a request for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to extend their COVID vaccine emergency use to children 12 to 15 years of age. .
Pfizer said 2,260 children between the ages of 12 and 15 took part in their third stage trial. At the end of March, company reported that they completed their findings on children of that age, calling their vaccine 100% effective against COVID-19.

Currently, their two-shot vaccine is approved for people 16 years of age and older.
