MANCHESTER, England (Reuters) – A dramatic final win from Stuart Dallas gave 10-man Leeds United a shocking 2-1 win over Premier League leader Manchester City at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
A volatile City side struggled for the right to advance in the first half, with Leeds taking a surprise lead in the 42nd minute, the Dallas winger drilled the ball down the post after the visitors’ first shot .
However, Leeds’ joy was short-lived as the VAR intervention saw their captain Liam Cooper get sent off just before the break for a dangerous tackle with Gabriel Jesus.
The exhausted visitors then took a tight defense, while City struggled to get through, but Ferran Torres broke their block in the 76th minute, leveling the score with a beautiful strike.
However, the movie is not over yet. As Man City threw everything at Leeds in search of a winner, the visitors broke the pace, with Dallas racing for a gripping win for Marcelo Bielsa’s side in the 91st minute.
The result means City’s six-game streak in all competitions is over as they are 14 points ahead of second-placed Manchester United by playing two more games, while Leeds climbed to ninth.
