In 2006, after Providence Health & Services (Newberg, Ore.) Having opened the Providence Newberg Medical Center in Newberg, patient numbers have skyrocketed, creating a need to provide additional outpatient services on campus. As a result, the three-story, 64,000-square-foot Providence Newberg Medical Center was opened in January 2020.
Led by an architectural firm JRJ Architects (Portland, Ore.), The project team has two main design goals. At first, management wanted to keep but updated the health system’s “brick brand identity”, achieved by combining metal curtain walls and spacious windows for a newer aesthetic. , more modern. To connect the new facility architecture to the existing hospital and any future buildings, the team also incorporated a brick mark into the back of the structure. Second, the team has worked to preserve the sweeping views of the Willamette Valley that patients and hospital staff enjoy. In addition, the extensive use of design features of wood, glass and steel has helped bring natural light and elements into the building.
Internal patient clinics and services including family medicine, internal medicine, therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, laboratories, cancer centers, pharmacies, food services and centers conference.
Work with an interior design company Bainbridge (Portland), all interior design elements adhere to Providence’s longstanding branding standards. The team focused on material selection to make a meaningful transition to help define patient areas such as check-in rooms and waiting rooms. A custom wooden slat ceiling template was also installed at the main entrance and implemented throughout each clinic area, with the same element used on the side of each lift elevation to create the most pathway. shop.
Once completed, the new building introduced some of the once off-campus departments on campus and provided Providence the ability to provide more integrated and enhanced services to Newberg and surrounding communities.
